Reel Time
I like to watch Reels, those short, online videos that can be about almost anything, but my personal favorite is life hacks.
There are all kinds of tips/shortcuts to accomplish any number of tasks, some more effective than others. For example, I do not recommend using mayonnaise to remove burned-on grease from a pan. I had to scrub off not only the burned-on grease, but also the mayonnaise.
Hey, kids! Don’t try this at home! Seriously. Don’t.
On the other hand, letting an ice cube melt into a dent in carpeting, then moving the wet fibers around and letting them dry, really does get rid of the dent.
Which brings me to the most sensational life hacks video I have ever seen. A large jar was filled with water, and an unpeeled apple dropped in. Then two disposable razors were added. (I also saw a version where they used razor blades instead, but since I had razors and no razor blades, I went with those.) The cap was screwed onto the jar, which was then shaken vigorously. VIGOROUSLY.
When the apple came out, it was completely peeled. I watched it several times and couldn't wait to try it.
Let's just say it's a very clever video and extremely well edited – so well edited, in fact, that PT Barnum would’ve loved it.
As for me, I would have given him a good laugh, and whether he did or did not actually say, “There is a sucker born every minute,” he’d have known one when he saw one.
Thanks for tuning in.

Thanks for a LOL!!
Looking at your photo, it looks impossible! I wonder how much energy is spent shaking the jar vs just simply peeling the apple!
